Alfred Mejia, Sr., born in Woodlake, California to Hilario and Helena Mejia, went to meet the Lord on August 6, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.
Alfred married the love of his life Linda Sanchez in 1952. Their marriage lasted over 50 years until her passing in 2002. They had four children Rosanna, Alfred, Jr., Rebecca and Sophia. One of Alfred's proudest chapters of his life was serving in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean War. Alfred enjoyed deer hunting, being an auto mechanic, drag racing, and reading about pre-history and animals.

He will be dearly missed by his children Rosanna Mejia and husband Francisco Aguilar of Bakersfield, Alfred Mejia, Jr. of Woodlake, Rebecca Mejia of Woodlake, and Sophia Taylor and her husband Dean of Woodlake, and their daughter. Alfred will also be remembered by his siblings Raymond (Ramona) Mejia of Visalia and Mary Mejia of Woodlake.
Alfred is preceded in death by his wife Linda Mejia, his parents Hilario and Helena and his two brothers Manuel Eddie Mejia and Frank Mejia.
A Visitation will be held at New Life Center 293 Ropes Ave., Woodlake on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 5pm with a Liturgical Service at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 9am followed by Interment in Woodlake Public Cemetery.
